TERRE，大地，意為“萬物由此而生”，當調香師JEAN CLAUDE ELLENA因葡萄酒，感受身心被浸潤的觸動，並體會到葡萄變成酒後，讓人類分享大地與歲月的感動後，他耗費一年，在葡萄園行走觸摸，體會土壤是萬物根源；行經酒窖時，則感受塵埃的酒瓶內正不斷分化出活的元素，因此開瓶時，酒香如香水般，像活在空氣中的情感。於是創作出Terre d'Hermes，這就是HERMES新男香的全新概念。
調香師JEAN CLAUDE ELLENA 原本便想創造一款沒有動物和麝香、能和皮膚相容、反映人性與個性本質的香水。JEAN像愛馬仕所有創造如凱莉包等經典包款、極度著重細節、被稱為擁有「愛馬仕手」的工匠們般，重視具創意但人文的細節，也希望用新法創造讓人們不重覆記憶的香水。
這款香水汲取了來自遼闊大地的美好事物，風、太陽、露水、水果、花果香—組合出獨特的味道。Terre d'Hermes香氛蘊含的七種成份全部由植物和礦物精華組成，他以60%的西洋杉當主結構，也希望擁有市面上柑橘調無法呈現的清新與明亮的生命力，於是他自創新柑橘調。香水的原材料完全採用天然材質，葡萄柚、甜椒與粉紅胡椒粒的活潑香氣，在高貴的天竺葵和西洋杉堅忍的氣息之外，塑造出動靜皆宜的氛圍。他對土地礦石的豐饒有著深深的感動，卻苦於世上沒有礦石味，於是觸摸再三並敲擊打火石來記憶味道，再像寫樂譜般在腦海調好配方，從而創造出世上所沒有的礦石味。
