Te Koko
This is Cloudy Bay's other Sauvignon Blanc offering, launched in 2000. Te Koko is barrel-fermented in oak using wild yeast and is peachy, tropical and citrussy. The fruit comes from four parcels of older vines on the floor of the Wairau Valley.
Te Koko refers to the Maori name for Cloudy Bay, Te Koko-o-Kupe. The legendary explorer Kupe dredged the bay for oysters and bringing up a bountiful harvest.
